Hey I'm Matthew
My friends call me Matt. I care deeply about educating and empowering the next generation of change makers, connectors and builders of a co-creative and healthy world.
As the individual learns to find full expression from a place of grounded stability, I believe the outer world we share will become more symbiotic, synchronistic and beautiful.
Throughout history, humanity has shown extreme grit, resilience and adaptability in the face of unsolvable problems. In our era, we find ourselves in a similar position, asking if we can truly be impactful or find answers we can act upon to build a brighter future.
The truth is, many of the answers have already been provided for us over the ages, it's just a matter of an intentional search and providing translations for our era. The rest of the answers lay within, and I'm here to help you find them.
About Me
Matthew Cannon, Founder
Matthew created Be Sage after observing that many people care about self and collective development while living an examined life, but seem to be edged out by limiting beliefs of themselves and the society they are part of. Pair this with the accelerating rates of cultural fracturing and technological change, and the problems we face begin to feel insurmountable. Matthew's mission is to guide individuals to a place of clarity, confidence, and surrendered action amidst the uncertainty of life on earth. He believes there is a route forward, and through our own collaborations with the sages of the past and present, we'll get there together.
Matthew's background includes 6 years of training with the Flow Genome Project where he become a certified flow coach after a year long certification course in 2019. He has also trained with Jesse Elder, Sacred Sons and Fit for Service as well as completed numerous courses with Embodied Philosophy. Most recently, he found tremendous somatic growth training with the Human Garage and is currently in route to becoming a Lifestyle Artist and practitioner of the Fascial Maneuvers & philosophy of the group.
In his professional life, Matthew is most known as a cofounder and Chief Growth Officer at Jamstik, a music technology company specializing in MIDI Guitars & Software. While there, he successfully raised over $1.5 million via crowdfunding efforts on Indiegogo and Kickstarter. He has served as a crowdfunding consultant on both non-profit and for profit ventures, and served as a consultant for startups & new ventures in the green-tech and wellness spaces.
When he's not working, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and communities; movement practice, meditation, writing songs on the piano, reading and riding his OneWheel around town with friends.
